The very function of civilization is based on the ability of people to communicate with each other. From simple tasks such as eating to complex tasks as building a home, a business, or a government, each layer of construction of these require the people involved to coordinate their efforts to accomplish the final results in whatever they are building. People establish forms of convey information from speech to signals. They also agree to have warnings of danger and alerts for emergencies.

Though many may not see it in such a way, another form of communication are our laws which have been designed by the ideas and arguments of legislators for rules to define social order. Through laws civil order is suppose to set understandings of boundaries and limits which each individual is expected to follow. By laws our civilization is prescribed to be maintained so that the majority of people will be able to sustain their livelihood.

Anytime two or more people become involved in a common goal, because people are so unique and have their own ideas about issues, beliefs, and objects, they are most likely to disrupt each other's individual efforts to achieving the common goal. They may all work diligently hard to accomplish the goal, but interfere with each other because of timing, capabilities, and physical obstructions (getting in the way). That is why communication is so important. Without communication a team is a mob.
