I am just starting out in the insurance field and i want to find ways to communicate more effectively. I want to be able to reach people clearly and better understand them so i can be liked and appreciated when i talk to them back. I hear there are many great books on this but i do not know where to start. If anyone has any input it would be great.
Well, in high school many years ago, during a speech/debate class one of the books we had to read was called "How to Win Friends & Influence People" by Dale Carnegie. It tells you effective ways to try to positively influence the people around you, and teaches you skills to communicate better. It was first published in 1937 but don't let that deter you. The lessons are timeless which is why the book is still popular and well known.
After the class ended, I had enjoyed the book so much that I brought my own copy that I still own today.

How To talk to Anyone. It is wonderful. It teaches you how to speak and interact with people in a more charismatic way. It was written by a CEO. It looksl like this.
