what are the NATURE, VALUES, and IMPORTANCE of Communication?

NATURE- etymology, brief history, where did it originate?
Values – i think it's almost the same as importance?
IMPortance.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!

Communication started with animals – a sudden start by a fish will warn other fish of possible danger. You can think of many examples. As primates developed into humans, their ability to increase sophistication and effectiveness of communication increased.

After the development of speech, the first great revolution in communication was writing, about the time of Abraham and the Patriarchs, in Sumeria [cuneiform] and Egypt.
[hieroglyphics].

The second great revolution was the alphabet – words made up of discrete sounds – invented in the Sinai about the time of Moses [1200 - 1600 BC].

The third great revoliution in communication was the invention of movable type, which immediately preceded and perhaps in some respects caused the Reformation. The Chinese had developed a form of movable type centuries before, but never really did much with it.

We are now in the fourth great revolution with the internet [thank you Al Gore for making it available to everyone, not just military and universities], where we have instantaneous worldwide communication.

The value of communication is that it transmits information – the more clear the communication, the better the opportunity for the information being transmitted correctly and received accurately.

Hope this helps
