    Kudos to you Brian. As a straight man who supports gay rights, I too have found myself in situations that were not a result of homophobia, they were simply awkward due to an inability to decipher views. I know that sometimes my gay and lesbian friends say that they feel as though straight people are patronizing them in an attempt to OVER accept them.     The word homophobia, although you defined it… is not exactly defined like that here.. its actually noble and moral to be homophobic
