Could the lacking of a fathership role in ones life impact their ability to communicate effectively?

It is highly unlikely that this would impact communication and the ability to do so effectively. However, children of single parents have shown positive correlations to having an increased likelihood for mental health disorders. Although it is easy to say it is because of a “single parent” but a correlation does not equal causation. There are so many other factors that may influence this. Such as the single parent having to work all the time, generally being in a lower income bracket which comes with more environmental stress, etc. So it by no means implies a single parent is a bad parent.

I can say YES! I have friends who grew old without fathers and they are somehow unable to disclose their thoughts to his friends, family or even to his girlfriend.

Children grow up and they learn and acquire things from their parents. Not all mothers can teach and make children understand what a fathers should be doing. So the tendency is, children thinks that they can do whatever they want since there no father that can reprimand them. When a father is present in a family, they feel as if the family will always be there to listen what ever happens.
