Can anyone recommend any books about improving communication skills both professionally and personally?

Try "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen Covey. It discusses communication at a personal and professional level as well as other habits essential to effective communication and cooperation.

For the same general information in a teen-friendly format, try "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens" by Sean Covey.
