Does a lack of communication have a negative effect on the relationshp?? Maybe like a language barrier or something else you feel is hindering the communication in your relationship?

Like if I speak Chinese and my partner,
speaks Spanish,how can there not be a communication breakdown if we can not understand eachother? Just an example!

People differ from each other. You can never find someone that is completely the same. But when it comes to love you should have to discover the similarities and the distinctions.
But you can't do that right away.It may take long time and patience. But the most important thing is to learn to listen the partner.
When you do listen than you hear more about partner's habits, concerns…and then by communicating, you help yourself to find out about the partners concern, but at the same time it will be much easier for you knowing your partner better.
Communication is the key factor…because it solves a really big matter…with having the will to communicate and understand your partner…means that you are aware that actually there are two people in a relationship…which is crucial for both side happiness.

I don't think that different languages cause a lack of communication! People can talk the same language and even then can not communicate! They talk over the same thing and understand different things! That's a really great problem!

Communication is the backbone of a relationship. Lack of communication will definitely have a negative effect on any relationship. It can break a relationship. Language has very little effect, because, most of the communication in love, is through non verbal body language. Language and words sometimes mislead, but non verbal body language is more reliable.

I truely believe that communication is the number one factor in any relationship, be it old or new. I have been married for the second time and have learnt from my first marriage that communication comes first before sex or anything. If you havent got that then things do go doen hill. But it has to come from BOTH partners.

It is VERY important and if you read all my answers on relationships, I have always said that honesty and communication are a must in every relationship. If you do not have them, you really do not have a relationship. If you don't have communication and honesty, you don't have trust. They all go hand in hand.
You can not always guess correctly what the other is thinking. One may be thinking that one thinks the 0ther is thinking something different. Miss-communication can lead to hard feelings or big mistakes. When you communicate, you will know clearly or have a better understanding of the situation and of each other. You grow closer as a couple or as a teenager/parent relationship, etc…. You can look at someone who looks like they are angry at the world, but if you start talking to them, you may find out that they are actually sad because they have a loved one in the hospital, or something like that. If you don't communicate, you don't really understand the true situation. Yes, Honesty and open Communication are very important in every relationship that is important to you, including friends and family.

This is the key to a great relationship with out it…it will be all sexual and the both of you will start questioning where it is going! The relationship i am currently in we ask and query and talk about everything and because of that we still going unbelievably strong.. its amazing. You need to communicate about your love, what pleases you sexually, what they feel about you doing this etc… and you will find after you have done all of this your relationship will grow incredibly because you will both be compromising to suit the others needs and desires
