Can a person really benefit from using Interpersonal Communication in the workplace?

If that were so, why do most of us have so many problems with bosses and co-workers? No one uses Interpersonal Communication or what?

The effective use of interpersonal communication is indispensable in any workplace in which two or more people are involved. Yet, it probably is the most overlooked issue, especially when an organization is experiencing problems in achieving its mission. Many managers believe interpersonal communication is just a "touchy-feely" concept; such managers tend to be authoritarian and fear their perceived loss of authority if employees were to have a greater voice in the workplace.
