If I want to improve my communication skills, as a business professional, then what can I do?

Listening skills are the hardest communication skills to learn.

Take writing and speech classes at a local college. It worked wonders for me, so it can help anyone who wants it.

You may attend effective modern business writing and effective/ technical oral communication courses / seminars. That helped me a lot.

You can also hire a coach. Do a web search for one in your city.

HI, that is very smart to want to do that. There is Career Track that travels around and gives excellent seminars and you get a certificate, which is excellent also to have on a c.v. or your wall in your office as it is a very recognized organization.

You can buy books and read at home on communication skills by master communicators. I have many of them in my library. You can also search the internet and maybe find online seminars.

Look in your local newspaper for courses and ask professionals where they took their courses.

Check with your university or college or private schools. There are many, many areas you can search.

Also what is excellent, write down all your good communication skills and which are not and work on those, ask your friends etc to tell you when you do not communicate well, also get in front of a mirror and act as if you are talking to someone, watch your eye contact, the movement of your hands, your body what does it say about you?

Everything is how YOU act and be natural. Learn to refine the skills you have already and the ones you don't become good skills, don't put them aside unless it really isn't good.

When I want to do something, I always practice with a friend, depending what it is and I usually do excellent. Plus a friend will tell you the truth, be ready to accept it and make it a positive one. The more you accept critics, the best you will become.

My friends call me "Miss Perfect" and I always say..it's because my friends always give me the critics I need not to make the same mistake twice. :)
