I could not agree more with you, Mazziatplay. The most difficult to do is to be active listener. Evereybody likes to speak, nobody wants to listen! How to get your message acrossed?

This presentation would be better if it addressed the real issues which is that there more than one modality ( type ) for people to communicate.
There is no mention of rapport, either verbal, kinaesthetic or auditory.
No mention of listening skills, because a relationship or a first meeting involves actually discovering what you have in common and areas where there may be issues or challenges...

While this guy raises some very valid points, he could explain the subject matter more clearly and with more depth.

Overall an interesting presentation...

The most important skill there is. The marketer must try to put out the companies message to consumers, and translate the information from consumers back the company.

A marketer is a conduit, or channel, that provides the opportunity to buy and to sell, and is usually the sole representative to both parties during a purchase.
References :
People don't end up confused! Alot of people make the mistake of talking when they don't really have anything to say or a point to it...they say things without really knowing what they want to get out of the conversation..and that's not good. Everyone gets something out of effective communication..we can achieve things together, and that, is something we really need or everyone is going to be screwed.
References :
Competant communication will not only get you the results you want in a situation, but will also inhance your relationships. Meaningful communication contributes to
physical health, plays a major role in defining our identity, and forms the basis of our social relationships.
Whats not important about it?
References :
College

Watch yourself, especially your mouth in the mirror. Try to make the same shapes and sounds as you have heard or watched on television.

Of course, believe in yourself. Take baby steps. Go slowly during the interview.

Get acquainted with those that use English as their first language. Ask that person for a date...anywhere...and to be your teacher. I did that when I lived in Turkey and found I learned Turkish quite quickly when I had Turkish friends. You mimic what you hear, thus becoming better at duplicating those sounds. And your friends will correct you if you are mispronouncing anything. Plus you are having fun with your new friends !

You are improving your communication skills by being with a strange group. You now need to rely on what you have learned to get the message across.

I hope you find the job of your dreams.
References :
If you can't converse properly with someone, they will get a wrong impression of you. It's also important to be heard from others and have your opinion and words understood.
